The lawsuit filed against PNC Financial Services Group, American Coin & Stamp Co., Inc., and Jaynesh Patel, an individual arrested in connection with the scam, alleges negligence on the part of the bank and precious-metal dealer for failing to detect and help prevent elder financial exploitation.
The plaintiff is represented in this matter by Pollock Cohen LLP partners Adam Pollock and Steve Cohen. Financial scams against the elderly "do not happen in a vacuum," Cohen said. "Banks and precious metal dealers are legally required to help detect and prevent this kind of elder financial exploitation."
