In “NBC News: Patients Hit Dead Ends With Insurance 'Ghost Networks.' Now, Some Are Suing.” (NBC News, February 24, 2026), NBC News discusses The American Psychiatric Association et al. v. EmblemHealth, Inc. et al., a class action lawsuit filed in New York federal court by Mark Health Law PLLC, Zuckerman Spaeder LLP, The Hufford Law Firm PLLC, and Janove PLLC.
The lawsuit filed against EmblemHealth, Inc. alleges fraudulent misrepresentations for failing to maintain an accurate provider directory, which has resulted in what are known as "ghost networks."
The lawsuit is one of at least seven filed in the last two years in connection to inaccurate provider listings from insurance companies. Pollock Cohen has filed five class action lawsuits challenging ghost networks, all of which are moving through the court system.
