In, "Reddit Can't Use CDA to Dodge Child Porn Suit, 9th Circ. Told" (Law360, August 29, 2022), partner Steve Cohen's counseling of a class of child pornography victims and their parents is introduced. In October 2021, the district court ruled that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA) protects Reddit from being sued because of contents posted by their users or third parties.

Krysta Pachman, a co-counsel of the victims, stated that the "judge ignored an exception that says Section 230 doesn't protect sex trafficking of children." Reddit, according to Pachman, was generating revenue from advertisements on the websites with child pornography while intentionally poorly training "volunteer moderators" who were in charge of deciding whether or not to take down certain contents.
